　　Debian GNU/Linux 4.0 released，Debian这款最能体现“自由软件”含义的操作系统，或者更准确的说是一个自由软件解决方案。4.0(Etch)经过21个月的开发（上一个版本Sarge花了36个月）正式进入Stable，支持多达11款处理器架构，主要套件包括：KDE 3.5.5a, Gnome 2.14, Xfce 4.4, X.Org 7.1, OpenOffice.org 2.0.4a, GIMP 2.2.13, Iceweasel(替代FireFox), Icedove(替代Thunderbird)等等，而软件总量达到18,000这个可怕的数字。
